The Pottery Museum currently has two 70 gallon jugs on display. Three were made for the 1923 Minnesota State Fair. The Pottery Museum has FREE admission and relies on donations to fund operating costs.
Groups Tours (5 or more): $3/Person
Our museum boasts over 6,000 pieces of vintage Red Wing Pottery spread over 13,000 square feet. For larger groups we offer guided tours lead by one of our knowledge volunteers. Groups of 5 or more should call at least 24 hours in advance if they wish to have a guided tour through the museum.
Guided tours will have a more in-depth look at the clay industry of Red Wing with a more personal touch on the unique pieces on display. Groups will receive a greeting from either our Museum Manager or Curator and have the opportunity to ask questions and have the full attention of one of our volunteer guides for the duration of the tour.
Tours can range anywhere between 45 minutes to one hour, however, those with tighter schedules can get a condensed tour to fit your schedule. We have a gift shop on site which is located at the conclusion of the tour, full of vintage Red Wing Pottery for sale. The proceeds from the Gift Store go to support the museum's operating costs and care of the collection.
Due to the need to have dedicated volunteers and necessary staff to prepare for your visit we ask for a tour fee of $3 a person in the tour group to be paid prior to the tour beginning. This can be made over the phone via credit card, or when you first arrive at the museum.
